Lucknow | In a swift and coordinated action, Gomtinagar Extension Police arrested a man accused of luring and abducting a 14-year-old girl, an offence registered under the Mission Shakti 5.0 campaign aimed at strengthening women and child safety in Uttar Pradesh.
The case was initially lodged on November 4, 2025, after the girl’s family reported that she had been enticed and taken away by the accused. Acting on the seriousness of the complaint, the police began continuous surveillance and traced the suspect’s movements through technical monitoring and local intelligence.
On Friday evening, police received actionable input that the accused was seen near the Munshipulia bus ramp. A team led by Sub-Inspector Praveen Kumar Singh, along with Head Constable Brijkant, immediately reached the spot. The accused, identified as Jeetan alias Shivpal, was arrested without resistance.
Police officials said the accused had fled with the girl after misleading her. The minor has since been located, and her statement is being recorded as part of the ongoing investigation. Legal proceedings under Sections 137-2/87 of the BP Act are underway, and the accused was produced before the court on Saturday.
Authorities stated that the arrest demonstrates the department’s firm commitment to prompt action in cases involving minors, especially under the Mission Shakti initiative. Further investigation is in progress to determine whether the accused was involved in similar activities earlier.
